May 23, (Friday) 2025  Aiken Audubon Bird Walk and Grouse Mountain Hike (both rather short hikes)

9:00 a.m.  Meet at Elk Meadows Trailhead (Mueller State Park)

Carpool – meet at 8: a.m., at Safeway Parking Lot, Manitou Springs, 3275 W Colorado Ave, Manitou Springs, far end of parking lot (near “creek”), look for red tesla

Migrating birds are passing through Mueller for the annual flight north.  Come see what birds are here along with a general nature hike.  1-mile slow-paced walk.  Afterwards, those that want can go to the end of the road and hike up to Grouse Mountain Overlook.  A beautiful overlook and highest point in the park.  Led by Aiken member and Mueller volunteer naturalist Michael Stewart.

Dress for Colorado weather; bring water and snacks!
