**Notice: Rescheduled to Sunday, Nov 26 due to weather.** Big Johnson is the best reservoir in the Colorado Springs area, and during migration and winter is teeming with ducks of many species, gulls, and sometimes loons and grebes. We’ll scan the lake for waterfowl and raptors, and then take a short walk to look and listen for longspurs and scaled quail in the Bluestem Prairie Open Space. Afterwards we’ll head a few miles down the road to Fountain Creek Nature Center and get closer looks at waterfowl, American Dippers, various sparrows and any other recent arrivals that might be around. Total field trip time will be approximately 4-5 hours. There are no restrooms at Big Johnson, but restrooms are available at Fountain Creek Nature Center.
