As birders, we’re always eager to learn more about birds, how to be a better birder and how to help protect these amazing creatures so that future generations can enjoy them as much as we do.

Meetings / Educational Programs

At our meetings, Aiken Audubon offers free educational programs on topics of interest to birders. Presenters are experts in their fields, and everyone is invited to attend.

Speakers

We offer classes to civic and school groups of all ages. If you would like to request a program, please contact us and we’ll do our best to find the speaker best suited to your needs.

Festivals & Conventions

Birding festivals and conferences are excellent opportunities to learn from well-known ornithologists and put your new knowledge into practice. Our list, organized by month, is ever-growing.

Other Opportunities

Our local nature centers and other sites offer classes of their own. While we aren’t aware of every opportunity, we’ll try to alert you to current offerings in the Pikes Peak region.

Flammulated Owl Research

Aiken supports the work of Dr. Brian Linkhart, the Colorado College biologist who has been studying Flammulated Owls for over 35 years. We encourage you to do so as well. For more information on making a donation to his work, click here.
